Abstrakt:

The 2,381 km long Beijing-Kowloon Railway Line, opened for traffic in September 1996, is one of the largest civil engineering projects in China in recent years. It extends from Beijing to Shenzhen, where it connects with the Kowloon Railway Line to Hong Kong. Located between two other major north-south railway lines that connect Beijing with the cities of Shanghai and Guangzhou, the Beijing-Kowloon line is the third major link between the northern and southern provinces of China. It has a designed annual traffic volume of 70 million t, which will significantly relieve rail traffic in the region. Crossing the Yellow River, the double-track Sunkou Railway Bridge, 6,212 m long, is a key project on this new route.
