Abstrakt:

This paper presents the results of a seven year field monitoring study involving 25 reinforced concrete panels exposed to a marine environment. Seven different corrosion inhibiting admixtures and two pozzolans were used in the study to compare their effectiveness at preventing or delaying onset of corrosion. Three Type 1 admixtures and the pozzolans are intended to reduce the concrete permeability while four Type 2 admixtures attempt to raise the chloride concentration threshold at which corrosion of the reinforcing steel is initiated. The test panels are described and their performance after 6-7 years of marine exposure is presented.
